Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus; Product Features and Review.

Samsung is considered a premium brand by many people, especially those who swear by Android phone as against Apple phones. For this set of people, owning a Samsung phone is seen as a premium alternative to owning an Apple phone. But as in Animal Farm where all animals are equal but some are more equal than others, there are certain Samsung phones that will not be rightly regarded as premium. However, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus is in the league of premium phones. In fact, many people will agree that this phone is one of the best Samsung phones in a while because it possesses many features that one will want in a phone.

But before we go too far; let’s look at the features of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus as well as the pros of getting one and the cons; after all, there is little that exists with an advantage but not a disadvantage.

Pros

Performance

Although not the fastest, it can still be considered one of the fastest Android phones. The phone comes with 12GB RAM, which is said to mirror Dex desktop mode complete with full browser support with many tabs open at once. Also, considering the phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 chipset, its performance is very powerful. In fact, the Note 10 Plus ended up with an average single-core score of 3,477 and a multi-core score of 10,950 on Geekbench 4

Storage

Like I already mentioned, the phone has 12GB RAM and 256GB or 512GB internal storage, with the latter storage space being more expensive, as expected. This storage space is more than enough for most people. However, just in case that’s not still enough, you have a MicroSD card slot for expandable storage.

Camera

Perhaps, one of the best parts of this phone is its camera. It has great camera software, a built-in video editor and portrait mode video that produces excellent photos and videos. The Note 10 Plus has 5 cameras providing varying perspective and combined awesome performance. The cameras include a 16-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, 12-megapixel wide-angle lens (main, dual-aperture camera), 12-megapixel telephoto lens, Depth-sensing camera, and 10-megapixel front-facing camera for AR and 3D scanning.

Besides the superb camera, the Live Focus filters help with the editing of photos to make them stand out even more. And the Live Focus Video is a video recording feature that can replace backgrounds with effects. But that’s not all; you also have a built-in video editor to cut short videos and add text and music to your videos.

Battery

With a 4300mAh battery, you can expect that the battery can last averagely all day. You should get roughly 20% after heavy use. The battery doesn’t just last long, it charges fast as well.

Cons

No Headjack

The phone doesn’t come with the traditional 3.5mm headphone jack. Instead, it comes with a USB-C port and a pair of USB-C AKG earbuds included in the box.

Complicated Power/Lock Button

The power button moved from right to left, which, I have to admit, is dramatic to consider complicated. But old habits die hard and it might take some time to adjust to the change.

Design

For some, the Aura glow colour and even the Gorilla glass back is enough to love the design of the phone. However, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus is quite big and also slippery, which makes it susceptible to frequent falls, so you will need a case. Also, it smudges and scratches easily.

Expensive

This phone is extremely expensive; it starts at about N300,000.
